Best 4-Star Hotels in Tromsø: Where We Actually Stayed (And What We'd Skip)
We visited eight Tromsø hotels on four research visits. Clarion Hotel The Edge is worth every Norwegian Krone due to its view. There are two others that we tried, but not anymore.

Our VacMode crew has been to many hotels in the Arctic Circle over several weeks, trying out their beds, testing their blackout curtains in the midnight sun, and assessing how reliable their internet connection is for sending your aurora photos at 3 AM.

Clarion Hotel® The Edge
This hotel is the modern face of Tromsø. The harbour views from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby and the top-floor Skybar are unbeatable. It’s also the primary pickup point for many major aurora tour operators. Honest flaw: Because it's a large conference hotel, the breakfast rush can be chaotic, and the elevators get heavily congested around 9 AM.
